Cynthia Jauregui, PsyD
Dr. Cynthia Jauregui is the Director of Behavioral Health Curriculum and is Core Faculty for the Family Medicine Residency Training Program at Family Health Centers of San Diego. She created and implemented a resident wellness curriculum and has completed research related to physician wellness. She manages the behavioral health clinic for the residency program and is director of the clinic competency committee.
Dr. Jauregui owns a private practice in El Cajon, California. At her private practice, she provides counseling services or coaching to patients of all ages and of all walks of life.
She has a passion for energy healing and has been specially trained in hypnosis and as a Reiki II practitioner. She enjoys working with essential oils to enhance the therapeutic experience. She has a special place in her heart for animals. In her private practice, she also provides energy work for therapy, emotional support and non-working animals.
Dr. Jauregui received and her License in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2008. She has served as a clinical supervisor and mentor to interns of marriage and family therapy, associate clinical social workers & behavioral health case managers since 2010. She received her Doctorate in Psychology in 2012. She has received specialized training in trauma-informed care with a special interest in how trauma manifests physically.
Dr. Jauregui completed the Society of Teachers in Family Medicine Behavioral Science Family Systems Educator Fellowship, class 2015-2016. Her fellowship project focused on residency physician wellness. She was the first person in her family to seek a higher level of education. As a single mother, she was determined to model the importance of obtaining an education to her three children.
